Continuing Care in Recovery

Continuing care in most cases for an individual with alcoholism and/or drug addiction is needed.  While in treatment most recovering alcoholics and addicts have no problem doing what they are suggested, but often when they leave treatment, they go back to what they were doing, due to lack of structure.  Tools that are learned in treatment are put aside because the individual has not had the opportunity to use them in a real life setting or environment.

Footprints of Serenity's After Care planning establishes a continued motion of recovery before an individual completes their individualized treatment.  This is put into action to ease the individual back into society without causing stress (many alcoholics and addicts get extremely anxious and get stressed with the unknown plans, getting frustrated having to make too many decisions.)  We understand that this is a delicate time and put compassionate care and understanding into each individual clients needs and goals in recovery.

Often alcoholics and addicts make many changes while they are in treatment, and once they have returned home are overwhelmed by their families.  Since home was a trigger, it is suggested that the individual finds a sober living, has a Sober Coach or Recovery Companion, for a a couple of months before making the full move back home. It will be there that an individual newly out of treatment will find their support group, learn, utilize, and prioritize their program.  Hiring a Sober Coach or Recovery Companion is a select choice for individuals because they guide individuals in the right direction towards a life in recovery.  Taking the proper steps and actions can always lead to success!  Footprints of Serenity is here to help, feel free to call us 24 hours a day7 days a week.  213-80-SOBER
